The body of a man found by rescue teams looking for a missing walker has been formally identified.

Daniel Adams, 26, was from Selby in North Yorkshire, North Wales police said.

A major search for him was launched on Monday after he failed to return from a hike in Eryri, also known as Snowdonia.

Searchers found his car in Bethesda, Gwynedd, and later his body in the Carneddau range in the national park.

Insp Mike Andrews of North Wales Police said: "Our deepest condolences remain with Daniel's family and friends at this difficult time."
