Some November and December events at St David's Hall have been moved or cancelled

Some sold out shows in the run up to Christmas at a popular Cardiff concert venue have been moved due to uncertainty over concrete.

St David's Hall was closed in September after reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac) was found.

It is hoped the building will reopen on 22 October, but promoters have asked for some shows in November and December be moved or cancelled.

Cardiff council said testing was taking place on Raac at the hall.

It added promoters were looking for more certainty and were opting to change venues to avoid the risk of having to refund.

The venue confirmed on social media a December gig by Stereophonics' Kelly Jones new band, Far From Saints, would now take place at the Utilita Arena - formerly the Cardiff International Arena.

Folk band Show of Hands' concert, which was due to take place on 22 November, has been cancelled.

Robert Plant's Saving Grace show, featuring singer Suzi Dian, was planned for 8 November but will now be at Cardiff's New Theatre on 15 November.

Gabrielle's 26 October show will now be at the Utilita Arena on the same day.
