Cardiff: CCTV footage catches man scratching up to 80 cars

A man has been caught on CCTV camera footage scratching up to 80 cars in the early hours in Cardiff.

South Wales Police are appealing for any information on the identity of the man who deliberately damaged parked cars around 01:00 GMT on Lansdowne Road in the Canton area of the city on Tuesday, 31 October.

“When I came out this morning, all of our neighbours are out there looking at the cars," said 18-year-old resident Denis Rosenau, whose family car was scratched.

He said there was a scratch on the side of the Audi A4 from one end to the other.

“Every single car from here, all the way [down the street] is all scratched. I don’t really see the point in them just ruining other people’s cars.

“It’s not what a normal person would do, walking around keying people’s cars because we all work hard for things and some loser walks around just to scratch people’s cars up.”
