Cardiff Devils have paid tribute to ice hockey player Adam Johnson who died after he was cut in the neck by a skate blade during a game.

There was a silent tribute before the game with Manchester Storm on Saturday.

Johnson, 29, from Minnesota, was in his first season with the Nottingham Panthers when he was fatally injured in a game against Sheffield Steelers.

"We are one hockey family, always. Rest In Peace, Adam," the Devils said on X, external, formerly Twitter.

The Devils fell short on Saturday night, losing 3-1 to the visitors at Cardiff's Vindico Arena, as the Elite League resumed.
