Police were called to the scene in Splott, Cardiff
Roads have reopened after a suspected bomb turned out to be a false alarm.
Emergency services were called to Titan Road, Splott, on Tuesday afternoon following a report of a suspicious item.
A 200m (656ft) cordon was put in place and numerous roads closed while police sought advice from bomb disposal experts.
South Wales Police later confirmed the item was a gas canister.
The cordon has since been lifted, but Cardiff council said roads in the area remained heavily congested.

People who lived or worked within the cordon had to be evacuated, with some being looked after in a double decker bus in a supermarket carpark.
Drivers were diverted away from Ocean Way and Lewis Road while the incident was ongoing.
A number of nearby businesses, including the Splash Central Cardiff swimming pool, were forced to close.
