A 21-year-old woman who suddenly died at a music event has been described by her family as "one of a kind".

Olivia Spencer from Pentre, Rhondda Cynon Taf was taken ill at a venue in Butetown, Cardiff during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Her relatives said they were "devastated" to have lost someone who "lit up every room" with her "funny, bubbly personality".

"She had a heart of pure gold and will be missed by all," the tribute added.

South Wales Police said it is continuing to investigate the "sudden and unexplained" death at Vaults Cardiff, which runs club nights in the old bank vaults at Portland House, Bute Street.

However, there are no suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared on behalf of HM Coroner.

Vaults Cardiff also expressed its "deepest condolences" in an Instagram post.

The club said: "As a venue, we are absolutely heartbroken."

It added concerns were raised for an individual "who was immediately taken to the onsite medic for medical assistance".

Paramedics arrived "within minutes", the club said, but "tragically the person passed away despite every effort from the medical staff".

"We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the individual and offer our continued support during this tragic time," it added.

"Safety is our number one priority as a venue, and we will continue to implement our strict policies through our upcoming events."
