Tribute to Chaz Ralph, 20, after Llanbradach crash death

A 20-year-old man who died in a crash has been described as a "pure diamond" by his family.

It happened on the A469 near Llanbradach, Caerphilly county, on 15 December, when Chaz Ralph was a passenger in a white Mazda.

The 18-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs.

Mr Ralph, from Pontllanfraith, was called "the most precious soul".

The tribute added: "We love you so much more than we ever thought possible, you were the best son and brother and friend to everyone.

"A pure diamond loved by everyone. You were too good for this world and you were our boy.

"We will miss your face, that infectious smile as you were the life and soul of the party."

The Welsh Ambulance Service was called following the crash at about 18:20 GMT on Friday, 15 December.

It involved one vehicle, and paramedics pronounced Mr Ralph dead at the scene.

The tribute to him said he made his family proud every day, adding: "You're in our hearts and right beside us always, we will miss you forever, our tears will never stop falling - we will meet again."

Officers arrested the driver of the car before releasing him on conditional bail as they continued to investigate the circumstances.

Gwent Police appealed to anyone driving on the road at the time or any dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
