Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue said the group was led down the mountain for hot chocolate and dog treats

A woman and four dogs that became stuck on a mountain after being spooked by gale force winds have been rescued.

The dogs and their owner had to shelter behind rocks after getting caught near Carnedd Dafydd, in Eryri, during a Christmas Eve hike.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue attended and led the group down the mountain for hot chocolate and dog treats.

The team urged hikers to consider bringing a shelter, extra warm clothes and hot drinks in case of an emergency.

It comes as forecasters have warned of heavy wind and rain for much of Wales in the coming days.
