Christopher Kapessa: Mum 'haunted by injustice' after son dies in prank

The mother of a boy who drowned after being deliberately pushed into a river in a "dangerous prank" says her family suffered racism by police.

Alina Joseph said she was "haunted by the injustice" her family had suffered throughout the police investigation into the incident.

"They had a biased view of me as a black, single mother living in the valleys," Ms Joseph said following the inquest into her son's death.

South Wales Police said the force had referred its initial investigation to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which in turn upheld one complaint in its investigation.
