Bridgend: Man and woman bailed over unlawful burial of babies

A man and a woman have been bailed after allegedly preventing the decent burial of two babies in Bridgend.

Zilvinas Ledovskis, 48, and Egle Zilinskaite, 30, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Tuesday where they spoke through interpreters to confirm their names and addresses.

The Lithuanian pair will next appear at Cardiff Crown Court on 19 March.

Police were called to Maes-y-Felin in Wildmill on 26 November 2022 where the young children were found.

South Wales Police has not confirmed the babies' age or sex.

Mr Ledovskis, of Neath Road, Swansea, and Ms Zilinskaite, of Crwys Road, Cardiff, were charged with two counts of concealing the birth of a child and two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body.

They have been released on conditional bail, having been ordered to surrender their passports and not to contact each other.
