Tumble dryer fire: Mum of two thankful nobody home during blaze

A family of five is staying in temporary accommodation after a tumble dryer fire ruined their home.

Emma Vaughan had left for work having turned the dryer off and leaving it to cool.

“You think the doors open, it’s off, it’s cool, but it hadn’t had the chance to cool down.

“All the contents went on fire, the windows have melted – it’s unbelievable.”

She said she was “devastated” but thankful nobody was at home when the blaze happened.

“I wouldn’t ever have a tumble dryer again, what I did that day, I’ve done many times just before I’ve gone to bed,” she added.
