Swansea: Watch rats scurrying near city centre gym

Video has captured rats running around near a gym in Swansea city centre.

In 2023 research by insurance company Direct Line suggested that Swansea had the highest number of rat infestations reported by local councils across Britain, of the 181 authorities which responded to a freedom of information request with useable data.

Jamie Rollison, who recorded the video, said: “To see a large cluster of rats 20-30-strong was shocking. Especially on the pavement, on the grassy verge and running around the bushes. More and more kept appearing the longer we looked.”

“Not the type of gym rat you expect to find at the gym,” he said.
