Aberystwyth University launches estates investigation

Aberystwyth University has launched an investigation following an internal review of its estates.

It said it was looking into a number of "commercial and operational" activities but police were not involved.

The investigation follows an internal review initiated by the new vice-chancellor Prof April McMahon.

The university said staff were co-operating fully but, as investigations were ongoing, there was little more it could add.

"It is likely that whilst the investigations are on-going, much of their time will be taken up with this activity," it said in a statement.
