Villagers in Cribyn and Llanwnnen fear for bus route

More than 100 residents have attended a public meeting amid fears their villages could be dropped from a bus route.
Villagers from Cribyn and neighbouring Llanwnnen in Ceredigion are worried about the Traws Cymru route.
Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire councils are resubmitting tenders but there are fears the villages might miss out in attempts to speed up the service.
The Welsh government, which funds the route, said no decision had been made.
The Traws Cymru service links Aberystwyth, Aberaeron, Lampeter and Carmarthen and is used by people to get to and from work.
A Welsh government spokesman said: "No decision has been taken as yet on the tender and no decision has been made on the route and timetable of the new Traws Cymru bus service."
There have long been complaints about public transport in rural Wales but a bus service picking up passengers from their front door is designed to ease the problem in Carmarthenshire and south Ceredigion.
Bwcabus, which started in 2009, is aimed at people who live off existing routes.
The Welsh government said this service could help quicken journey times on the longer Traws Cymru service and had been expanded to serve both Cribyn and Llanwnnen.
A spokesman added: "This service will greatly improve accessibility of residents living in rural areas around Lampeter.
"The new Bwcabus service may offer the opportunity to quicken the journey times on the longer distance TrawsCymru service between Aberystwyth, Lampeter and Carmarthen by omitting time consuming diversions to smaller settlements, which will now be served by Bwcabus."
