A new Welsh medium school in Powys has been granted planning permission.
Powys council submitted an application for the £8.5m Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd next to Newtown High School, to meet a growing demand in north Powys.
The school will accommodate up to 300 pupils and will include facilities for children with learning needs, and community learning for adults.
Planning permission was granted according to the recommendations, external and work must begin within five years.
The local authority decided to build a new school in Newtown because the existing Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd was "full" and had "building deficiencies".
