Welshpool station car park extended ahead of new services

Welshpool station will have four extra return services a day

Work to extend Welshpool railway station car park is to be carried out to cope with expected growth in usage when extra train services start.

Four additional return services will run between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury Monday to Saturday, with hourly services during peak morning and afternoon times.

Transport Minister Edwina Hart has announced £31,000 towards the work.

She said she wanted more people to use park and ride facilities.
