WW2 German bomb is detonated on a Ceredigion beach

The bomb is believed to be the type that was dropped on many part of Wales during WW2

A World War Two German bomb which was found in the garage of a house in Aberystwyth has been detonated.

Residents in the Llanfarian area were evacuated after the 1kg incendiary device was discovered on Wednesday.

They were allowed back into their properties later that night after the bomb disposal unit made the area safe.

The device was detonated by experts on Ynyslas beach on Thursday.
