An appeal has been made for material about the life and work of the man who founded the NHS.

Ebbw Vale MP Aneurin Bevan was health minister in 1948 and copies of his books have been held by the National Library of Wales.

But the library's Welsh political archive is looking for more.

It wants photos, letters, leaflets, posters and booklets so it can create a new collection to mark what would have been his 120th birthday in 2017.

Assistant archivist Rob Phillips said: "Aneurin Bevan is a central figure in Welsh and British politics and we're keen to collect more material about his life and work so that it will be available to all who want to know more about his contribution to modern Wales."
