Wrexham Supporters' Trust members' meeting 'positive'

Wrexham FC Supporters' Trust (WST) say members held a "very comprehensive" meeting over its plans to buy the club.

The trust recently announced it has joined forces with former rival bidder, businesswoman Stephanie Booth, to work on a joint bid.

WST members were updated on the plans at a "positive" meeting on Monday.

Last week, ex-footballer Ashley Ward withdrew his bid, and businessman Stephen Cleeve also declared an interest.

Terry Heath, a WST board member, said the purpose of Monday's meeting was to bring all members up to speed on their plans to buy the club.

He said: "It was a very comprehensive meeting. It was a full house.

"There was a lengthy question and answer session with a lot of questions from the floor.

"There was some criticism, but generally it was very positive.

"We will be looking to call an emergency general meeting (EGM) within the next few weeks for the membership to tell us how they want to go forward."
