Prysmian Cables Wrexham pay dispute settled

A pay dispute which led to strikes at a Wrexham cable factory has been settled.
About 240 members of the Unite union at Prysmian Cables on Wrexham Industrial Estate voted to accept a two-year deal.
Last month, workers held phased six-hour stoppages after rejecting the company's offer of a 1.5% rise. They have now agreed a 2% rise from January, rising to 3% the following year.
But Unite said the vote had been narrow and some workers were still "very unhappy".
The factory employs more than 400 people, and the dispute involved production and maintenance staff.
In 2010 Prysmian Cables won a £15m contract to manufacture and install power cables to the Gwynt y Mor wind farm off the north Wales coast.
