Wrexham set for combined fire and ambulance station

A combined fire and ambulance station could be built on land near Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said its town centre fire station at Bradley Road was in need of a major refurbishment.
And the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust has been upgrading and relocating its ambulance stations.
Their joint plans, external on land at Croesnewydd Road are set to be approved by councillors at a meeting on Tuesday.
The fire service said it was looking to collaborate more with other organisations as part of the modernisation of its estates.
It already shares a joint control room with North Wales Police.
The ambulance service said the new facilities would allow dedicated "fleet assistants" to clean vehicles after use by patients to allow paramedics to spend more time assisting the public.
