Karen Catherall murder: Strangled and head injuries

A Flintshire woman found dead at a house in Mold had head injuries and was strangled, it has been revealed.
The body of Karen Catherall, 45, was found at High Park, Gwernaffield, in the early hours of Sunday.
An initial inquest hearing heard her death was caused by a "blunt force head injury" and "mechanical asphyxia"
North Wales Police have been given an extra 36 hours to question a 47-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder.
The Welsh Ambulance Service had previously said that Ms Catherall was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday, after being called to the address at 02:36 BST.
North Wales Police said the family of Ms Catherall, who is understood to be a mother, are being given support.
The coroner for North Wales East and Central, John Gittins, said the inquest opened on Monday would be adjourned pending the outcome of the police investigation.
Det Insp Mark Hughes, of North Wales Police added: "A full investigation is under way and the family of the deceased woman are being supported.
"We are appealing for anyone with information, which may assist the investigation, to call us 101."
