A family say they have been left "devastated" by the murder of a Flintshire woman who was a "loving mother, daughter, sister, aunty and friend".

The body of Karen Catherall, 45, was discovered at High Park, Gwernaffield, near Mold, on Sunday.

Ms Catherall's family said she "will remain forever in our hearts".

Darren Jeffreys, 47, from Mold, has appeared before Wrexham magistrates after being charged with murder.

In a statement the family said: "We are all devastated and heartbroken by the tragic and sudden death of our beloved Karen. She was a kind hearted and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunty and friend to many.

"Karen was full of life, always laughing and there was never a dull moment when she was near. Karen will be sorely missed and will remain forever in our hearts."
