A rare albino hedgehog has been found in a garden in Wrexham.

The prickly youngster is being cared for at RSPCA's Stapeley Grange wildlife centre until it is ready to be re-released.

Their unusual colouring means albino hedgehogs have little chance of survival in the wild as their coats often prove attractive to predators.

RSPCA inspector Tim Jones, who collected the hedgehog, said it was not the first found in the area.

"This is the second albino hedgehog I have collected this year as I also picked one up at the end of the summer in the Wrexham area, which is quite unusual," he said.
