A decision on whether to install underground storage tanks to prevent flooding in a Flintshire town has been deferred.

The flood alleviation scheme has been drawn up for Mold, including using tanks to cope with water in heavy rain.

Work was carried out after a major flood in 2000 but it happened again in 2012.

Plans, external were due to be discussed at a council meeting on Wednesday, but the decision will be made at a later date.

A report said the flooding is caused by watercourses west of the town which deliver storm surges into culverts that are unable to cope during heavy rainfall.

The storage tanks could be installed on land at Ysgol Glanrafon and Maes Bodlonfa.
