A man who died after becoming ill while swimming across a river in Wrexham has been named.
North Wales Police said attempts were made to save the 31-year-old, named locally as Rick Williams, but it was "too early to speculate" what caused his death.
The incident happened in the River Dee at Ty Mawr Country Park on Sunday.
Mr Williams was a goalkeeper for Wrexham Disability FC and a spokesman said the club was "devastated".
Police said the coroner has been informed.
