Appeal after attempted child abduction in Queensferry

Police are searching for a man after the attempted abduction of 13-year-old girl near a supermarket in Flintshire.

North Wales Police said the girl was assaulted when she was walking along Aston Road, Queensferry, at about 17:40 GMT on Friday.

The girl managed to raise the alarm and the man ran off towards Queensferry.

Police said the girl was "in shock" but was not seriously hurt after the incident near Asda supermarket.

Det Ch Insp Dan Tipton said: "This is a very rare incident and North Wales Police are doing everything we can to identify and apprehend this man".

The man is described as white, about 50-years-old, with short dark hair. He was wearing a long black coat and is believed to have an eastern European accent.
