A springer spaniel has survived falling up to 50ft (15.2m) off shoreline cliffs in Anglesey.

The dog, named Scooby, plunged down onto a beach at Porth Dafarch, near Holyhead, while walking along the headland with his owners.

Holyhead coastguards were alerted after Scooby's owners realised they could not get to the beach to rescue him.

Scooby, who suffered a slight limp in the fall, was then reunited with them.

Trearddur Bay inshore lifeboat crew were alerted by local people and managed to wrap Scooby in a blanket until he could be taken to an emergency vet.

Scooby is expected to make a full recovery.
