Rescuers critical of 'ill-equipped' Snowdonia walkers

The walkers became lost on Tryfan in the Ogwen Valley

Two walkers rescued in Snowdonia have been criticised for being ill-equipped.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team said the pair, in their 20s, were lost in an area known as the Milestone Buttress on Tryfan on Thursday night.

The rescuers said the man and woman were wearing light clothing and trainers.

They were lowered to safety on a rope and escorted off the mountain in what was described as "perfect" weather.

The rescue team had earlier finished helping a well-equipped 60-year-old walker who suffered a head injury after tripping in the Ogwen Valley.

He was driven to hospital in Bangor for a check-up.
