Flintshire runner John Pares has won the men's Commonwealth Ultra Marathon 24-hour road race in Llandudno, Conwy.
Pares, who runs with Buckley Running Club, struck gold after covering 150 miles (241km), improving on his third place at the last championship in 2009.
The overall winner was England's Lizzy Hawker, two laps ahead of Pares.
She set a world best performance for a woman, also breaking the British and Commonwealth 100 mile (161km) record and becoming the world record holder.
The contest, taking place in north Wales until Sunday, is the second Commonwealth Mountain and Ultradistance Running Championships.
