Wylfa B nuclear protesters mark Fukushima anniversary

Anti-nuclear protesters have staged a demonstration on Anglesey on the first anniversary of the Fukushima disaster in Japan.

People Against Wylfa B (Pawb) said its event near Menai Bridge was part of the international day of action.

It is year since an earthquake and tsunami struck Japan, sparking a fight to prevent a nuclear catastrophe.

Pawb opposes the development of a new generation nuclear power station on Anglesey.

Wylfa was confirmed among eight sites around the UK, all adjacent to existing nuclear sites, deemed suitable for new power stations by 2025.

Horizon Nuclear Power said its plans could create hundreds of jobs.

Cymdeithas yr Iaith (the Welsh Language Society), Greenpeace, CND Cymru and Bangor and Ynys Môn Peace Group joined the demonstration.
