Police have warned motorcyclists not to ride in the cycle lane along the promenade between Kinmel Bay and Pensarn in Conwy.

Local residents have complained to North Wales Police about motorbikes and mopeds using the lane.

Officers said the practice was "illegal and dangerous" and urged anyone who saw the riders to report registrations numbers to the police.

The promenade also has a dispersal order to prevent groups drinking there.

Pc Steve Thomas from North Wales Police said: "Riding motorbikes on the promenade is illegal, dangerous and causes a nuisance to those rightfully using the track and we are now calling for the public to help us track down those responsible.

"We are also urging people who witness motorbikes or mopeds on the promenade to make a note of the registration number and let us know so that the appropriate action can be taken."

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Sabrina Illman-Edwards in Kinmel Bay or PCSO James Lloyd in Towyn on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
