The Manic Street Preachers have been announced as one of the live acts at this year's Festival No6 in Gwynedd.

It attracted 6,500 people to the Italianate village of Portmeirion when held for the first time last September.

Other acts booked for the 2013 festival include James Blake, Everything Everything and DJ Frankie Knuckles.

It was named Best Small Festival in last month's NME Awards but complaints from some neighbours have prompted organisers to promise to cut noise.

Residents living near the site were not disturbed, but noise carried across the Dwyryd estuary to Talsarnau.

The festival's name was inspired by the 1960s cult TV series The Prisoner which used the village as a backdrop and where Patrick McGoohan's character was called Number 6.

Acts last year included New Order, Primal Scream, Death In Vegas and Spiritualized.

There were also literature and performing arts events.

The 2013 festival will run from 13 to 15 September.
