Soldier airlifted in Snowdonia after mountain fall

A rescue helicopter was called to a group of soldiers training in Snowdonia after the leader fell 60ft (18m) while helping colleagues stuck on a crag.

The man fell on Glyder Fach on Friday afternoon.

The three stranded men were lowered down to their leader and then were escorted off the mountain by Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team.

The group's leader was flown to hospital in Bangor with suspected rib injuries. He is based on Anglesey.
