Colwyn Bay pier will cost £15m to restore, report says

The condition of Colwyn Bay pier has worsened during the ownership dispute
Plans to restore a grade II-listed Victorian pier in north Wales would cost more than £15m, a report says.
The derelict pier in Colwyn Bay has been closed since 2008 and is in the middle of the town's £37m coastal defence and regeneration work.
Conwy council had a £600,000 Heritage Lottery Fund grant to investigate the feasibility of restoring the pier.
But the report raises doubts over £6m of Welsh government funding, adding that demolition would cost about £1m.
The report will be discussed at a meeting of the full council on Thursday.
The pier's former owner Steve Hunt has been involved in a legal battle with the council disputing its claim to ownership.
