Opera singer Bryn Terfel has had a carriage on the Snowdon Mountain Railway named after him.
He is the second person to receive the honour which recognises his contribution as "an international ambassador for north Wales".
The first was former British Cycling director Sir Dave Brailsford, who grew up in Deiniolen, near Llanberis.
A ceremony to honour Terfel was staged at the railway in Llanberis, where he also received a bronze medal.
He said: "What an honour to stand on a platform looking at my own carriage and receiving the courtesy bronze medal of the iconic Snowdonia Mountain Railway."
