The motorcyclist who died after a crash in Gwynedd at the weekend has been named as Kevin Haddock.

The 56-year-old grandfather from Birmingham was on a day out on Saturday with a group that included his nephew when the collision happened near Dolgellau at about 18:40 BST.

A family statement said: "He always took his time when he was on his bike."

North Wales Police closed the A470 at its junction with the A494 for several hours after the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash, which involved a grey Ford Focus estate car and a red Yamaha motorcycle, is asked to call the force's roads policing unit on 101.
