A diver who died following an incident at a disused Gwynedd quarry has been named.

Julian Philip Kelsal, 41, from Staffordshire, got into difficulty 40m (131ft) below the surface at Dorothea Quarry in the Nantlle Valley on Sunday afternoon.

A coroner's investigation is under way.

The flooded quarry has become a popular site with divers since it ended operations in the 1970s and there have been about 20 deaths there since 1990.
