Health officials are meeting to decide whether to close a doctors' surgery in Gwynedd amid concern over recruiting GPs.

The number of doctors at Botwnnog has dropped to three and they say it is not enough to run their Abersoch surgery.

The North Wales Local Medical Committee says it is an example of how GP levels are unsustainable in rural areas.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board says the recruitment problems mirror the situation across the UK.

However, it adds that it is confident it can meet the challenge.

The meeting is due to take place on Friday afternoon but the final decision is not expected to be made known until next week.
