Former Shell oil depot site on Anglesey sold for £3m

The 200-acre site of the former Shell oil facility on Anglesey has been sold for £3m.

Conygar Investment Company PLC said it has bought the Rhosgoch land from The Isle of Anglesey Charitable Trust.

Conygar chief executive Robert Ware confirmed the site will primarily be a base for facilities linked to nearby Wylfa Newydd.

Mr Ware said it would also have other uses including for a solar farm and gas fuel energy projects.

"We will now be working towards submitting planning applications within the next 12 months," he added.

Tony O'Keefe, a director at Cushman and Wakefield, who have acted on behalf of the trust, said: "Following a competitive bidding process, we're pleased to have agreed the sale of this site, which has remained undeveloped for a generation."
