A multi-million pound extension comprising of a cinema, offices and retail space looks set to be built on the site of a Caernarfon theatre.
Galeri's owners hope to start work on the three-storey building in January 2017 if permission is given by Gwynedd council on Monday.
It would then open by early 2018 with 190 seats in the two-screen cinema.
Council planners are recommended to approve the move at their meeting in Dolgellau.
Gwyn Roberts, Galeri's chief executive, said: "Having two dedicated screens will free up the main theatre for an extra 90-plus days every year."
The new extension will have an "industrial look", made up of grey metallic zinc sheets, with a design that aims to "reflect the industrial history" of the town's Victoria Dock.
