Row over Pen Y Gwryd Snowdonia parking fines for drivers

Fines handed out to motorists in Snowdonia have been criticised by a councillor who said there was a lack of 'no parking' signs on the road.
Gwynedd councillor Sion Jones said about 70 cars were fined for parking on the side of the road at Pen Y Gwryd, a popular spot for walkers, on Monday.
He said the road was used after car parks filled up, but there were no yellow lines or 'no parking' signs.
Gwynedd council said tickets were only issued to drivers who flouted the law.
Mr Jones, who represents the Bethel ward, told BBC Radio Cymru's Post Cyntaf programme there were small clearway signs, indicating no stopping, but he wants the council to put up clearer signs and create more official parking spaces.
A Gwynedd council spokesman said: "Motorists who ignore the restrictions are endangering other drivers, cyclists and pedestrians on these narrow mountain roads as illegally parked cars can cause significant difficulties for emergency service vehicles."
