The theatre, which was built in 1973, closed due to "health and safety concerns"

Site managers at a Gwynedd theatre have said "every effort" is being made to reopen the building.

Harlech's Theatr Ardudwy closed earlier this month due to health and safety concerns, but aims to hold its half-term film showings.

It is preparing to reopen on 27 October once "appropriate safety and fire regulations" are in place.

Managers said the safety concerns relate to the theatre's facade and the building structure was "sound".

Site managers Workers' Educational Association YMCA Community College Cymru and Theatr Ardudwy said in a joint statement that public safety remained a "core objective."

They added: "All parties remain in full agreement that the health and safety of the general public and employees on site remains at the forefront of all discussions."
