The leader of Conwy council is to step down and retire as a councillor.

Dilwyn Roberts has been the authority's leader for the last nine years but has held a seat since 2004.

But the 66-year-old will not stand at the upcoming council elections in May.

Mr Roberts will also leave his role as chairman of the North Wales Economic Ambition board.
