Tracy Kearns: Man in court over Kinmel Bay murder

A man from Kinmel Bay, Conwy county, has appeared in court charged with murdering Tracy Kearns.

The body of the 43-year-old former supermarket manager was discovered on Saturday after being missing since 7 May.

Anthony James Bird, 48, spoke only to confirm his name at the hearing in Llandudno Magistrates Court on Monday.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday.

Police confirmed on Sunday that a body found in the search for Ms Kearns had been formally identified as the missing woman.

Det Ch Insp Neil Harrison said: "Our thoughts are with Tracy's family and friends at this difficult time."

"I am conscious of the impact the incident has had locally, and I would like to thank the community of Kinmel Bay for all their patience and support over the past five days," he added.
