Britain's Got Talent: Anglesey singer Gruffydd Wyn Roberts out

Supporters are gathering to watch the show

A singer from Anglesey who made it through to the Britain's Got Talent final has missed out on winning the competition.

Residents of Amlwch had gathered on Sunday evening to support 22-year-old Gruffydd Wyn Roberts.

But despite going straight through to the semi-finals after securing a golden buzzer pass, he missed out to the Lost Voice Guy in the final.

He had performed Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bocelli's Perfect Symphony in Italian.

On Wednesday, Mr Roberts, who works at Pontio arts centre in Bangor, sailed through to the final 10 with his rendition of Andrea Bocelli's Nelle Tue Mani from the film Gladiator.

In his first audition, he performed Nessun Dorma from Puccini's opera Turandot, the same song sung by Paul Potts, who won the first series in 2007.

Comedian Noel James, from the Swansea Valley, appeared in Thursday's semi-final but did not make it through to the final.
