Plaid Cymru AM Bethan Jenkins charged with drink-driving

A suspended Plaid Cymru Welsh assembly member has been charged with drink-driving.

Bethan Jenkins, 30, was arrested in Cardiff in the early hours of Sunday, 14 October.

South Wales Police confirmed that a woman from Neath was arrested in Llandaff and will appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court on 19 December.

The South Wales West regional member, who has been suspended from Plaid's assembly group, is the youngest AM.

A police spokesperson said: "A 30-year-old woman from Neath arrested on Sunday, 14 October in Llandaff, Cardiff, on suspicion of drink-driving has been charged with the offence.

"She is due to appear in Cardiff Magistrates' Court on 19 December."
