The ambulance service says it is determined to provide a 'first rate service'

The proportion of Welsh ambulances meeting the response time target for the most urgent calls dipped in October after a slight improvement the month before, the latest figures, external show.

A total of 55.5% arrived within 8 minutes, down from 58.9% in September and from 65.2% in October last year.

The target is 65%. Liberal Democrats called the statistics "shocking".

Ministers said the figures were "disappointing", the ambulance service said it was "determined" to improve.

The statistics also show that the Welsh Ambulance Service received more emergency calls, compared to September and the same period last year.

In June, Health Minister Mark Drakeford demanded the ambulance service improve within 3 months.
