The former Welsh public services minister who lost his Rhondda seat to Plaid Cymru at the assembly election has ruled out standing there again in 2021.

Plaid leader Leanne Wood beat Leighton Andrews with a majority of nearly 3,500.

Mr Andrews said the constituency's Labour party needed to reflect on the result and pick a new candidate.

He said he wanted to reflect "on how I can contribute to Wales in the future".

Mr Andrews informed the Rhondda Labour Party's annual general meeting of his decision on Friday.
