Stall holder David Torres, 45, from Peru, said fans were not interested in buying official Olympics merchandise. He added: "They only want their national flags and scarves."
But earlier crowds gathered in the Hayes to watch rowers Helen Glover and Heather Stanning win Great Britain's first gold medal on the BBC big screen.
Leoni Giorgio and Salamina Alberto, from Locarno in Switzerland, have been following their team all around the UK. They play Mexico in the first match of the day. Mr Giorgio said: "Its been a very good experience."
A group of Great Britain supporters have combined the match with a stag do for Anthony O'Keefe, 24, (middle) from Sheffield.
Fans Francisco Beltran, Maria Laura Vasquez and Camila Beltran from Montevideo in Uruguay said they were enjoying following their country in the Olympics but admitted the weather was "very strange".
Sue Cutts and Ruth Garner from Bristol with Ruth's twins Olivia and Joseph Garner, seven, have travelled up to watch Great Britain. Joseph says this is the biggest match he has been to.
